The Integrated Basin Development and Livelihood Promotion Programme (IBDLIP) being the State Flagship programme was launched in April 2012 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, Dr. Mukul Sangma as an initiative to improve the livelihood and quality of life of the people of Meghalaya. The District Basin Development Unit (BDU), West Khasi Hills District as one of the nodal unit to implement the programme has taken various initiatives and activities in order to achieve the objectives of IBDLIP. This Report is indicative of the activities of the BDU and Enterprise Facilitation Centres (EFCs) since inception till date.
It is indeed a great privilege to be able to be a part of the team which is responsible for uplifting the livelihood of the people especially in rural areas.Challenges are many but hopes push the District team ahead.
My special appreciation goes to the Nodal Officer, the BDOs, the Programme Associates, the interns, the team from MRDS and the staff of the BDU and EFCs for their persistent efforts to ensure that the people’s expectations from the programme are met.
I look forward for continuing my affiliation with the programme and the team of young people in uplifting the livelihood of the people of the District and the State.
